Gate of Madness is not long, the mission is actually really easy if you pull the mobs right.
The mission I hate the most is blacktide den, I just find this mission so annoying.

Same here...Gates of madness...it's just plain annoying. All that fighting and plowing through those mobs just to fight Shiro...once again. As if fighting him in Factions wasn't enough. (Wonder if he'll be back, yet again, in EoTN, lol)
There are several other missions I don't like...such as Gyala Hatchery (boring). But yeah, for me GoM is the most hated mission. >.<

I was going to say jennur's Horde, but my opinion towards that mission has changed slightly. My vote is with Dunes of Despair.

I detest Gate of Madness too. It's one of those missions which is extremely difficult without at least two people because the henchmen are pretty poor and the difficulty of the mission (as expected) is too high for the henchmen's mediocre skillbars to handle.
To improve it, I'd re-assess henchman skillbars to cater for those who don't have an enormous guild or friend list. The PuGs usually involve 6 Mending dervishes and 2 monks, one of which turns out to be a smiter. Not Anet's fault but it's still a pain.
While I'm in whining mode, Eternal Grove is a pain for those lone-travellers. It requires a two way split to defend the openings and this is a must if you want the bonus. Hero/Hench don't fair well when flagged to a spot which you want them to defend.
I can't think of any way to improve this one though.
Also, Aurora Glade's ending/bonus is tough in Hard Mode.

Gyala Hatchery. I. HATE. it. Completed Nightfall in a day no problem. It was fun, Gate of Madness was definitely one of the hardest (as it took me three attempts to get it done properly) but GYALA SUCKS!

I'd have to say Grand Court of Sebelkeh, since it's a choke point from Vabbi to the good stuff in the Desolation and Realm of Torment.

Worst mission? Those missions in Factions, where the game forces you to team up with the people outside your group.
me: "hey, other team don't let togo/mhenlo die"
them: "um...ok"
15 sec later togo/mhenlo drop dead... game over
Those stupid missions where you have to rush are rather annoying as well, tactics are outta window, run! run like a mofo!!! Oh yeah any missions with danika as well. My god how much did ANet pay for that voice actress? She should be sleeping with the fish.
GOM was hard when it was new, but like all the missions, easy when you know how. Wild Blow vs impossible odds is the key, rush tactic do work on those portals as long you time it right and have enough fire power. Still bloody hard in HM mind you.

eternal grove hard mode is hands down the hardest mission in the game. Nothing even comes close to how hard it is.

For me, it's a tie between Nanphui Quarter and Gyala Hatchery. Hate both of these missions with a passion.....

I used to find Gyala difficult but when you learn to use the cannisters properly it becomes a breeze. Wards are also handy around the lil' baby turtles.
Again, more humans make this easier because heroes and henchmen can't carry cannisters.

I did that route the first time around, now i do the Nundu Bay route every time. I loathed Jennur's Horde!

I hate Ruins of Surmia, too damn long
Champions Dawn, pain in the arse to juggle the tablets and kill the apocrypha with heroes in that level with a monk, etc
Sebelkeh aswell. Too many noobs who cant understand simple instructions.

I don't hate any mission, but dying at the end of Gate of Madness can be frustrating due to the length of time it takes to get to the end.
Otherwise, probably Jennur's Horde. Not a bad mission, it just got boring doing it repetitively with henchmen and heroes.

Once you make a certain amount of characters you probably bang your head against the keyboard and pick your nose waiting for the banter in each area to end.
Yes, I know what the mini-map does by now!

Gyala Hatchery, without a doubt.
Even doing it the lazy way is a pain.
